By Thomas HACHE, Grenoble (1664-1747)
Small Mazarin desk in Italian marquetry of boxwood, pear, elm, walnut, burr ash. Decorated with cranes and rinceaux, and a frieze of "hands and pistils" which, according to Pierre ROUGE ..."One does not find on any piece of furniture or chest of the HACHE workshop".
The decoration is predominantly in camailleux of wood shaded with warm sand, with rinceaux tinted in bright green that revive the decor.
This wall bracket desk rests on eight sheathed legs joined by four by an H-shaped spacer, topped by a spinning top.
It opens with seven drawers and a central door with a strong concavity.
The locks and their entrances are made of wrought iron, all origneous and in perfect condition.
The inside of the drawers are lined with marbled paper of the period.
The sides are enriched with an unusual protruding panel.
The top with rounded corners and overhanging edges is decorated with a dark brown leather with iron decoration.
It was made later and this is not the result of a restoration but of a practical and functional arrangement compared to the original straight and inlaid top.
With 2 keys of the period.
H. 77 cm - W.: 104 cm - D.: 61 cm
This piece of furniture is in excellent condition.
