Large in-4, 45 p., 61 steel-engraved plates, some double, contemporary garnet half-leather, smooth spine bordered with a double gilt fillet with gilt title in the center, gilt fillet to the boards, gilt title to the upper board on matching label (spine rubbed, one corner dull, brown spots). Unique edition of this rare publication not in trade. The plates offer detailed plans of the state of the buildings in 1840, the first one offers a plan of the park and the gardens. Provenance: Lucien Morel d'Arleux's estate, Feb. 1963 (note on the lower back cover). Attached : CHÂTEAU de Saint-Cloud. Domaine de la Couronne. Paris, Imprimerie de E. Duverger, 1839 - [1845]. Large in-4, 33 p., 55 [of 58 ?] plates, contemporary dark green Russian half-leather, smooth spine bordered by a double gilt fillet with gilt title in the center, gilt fillet on the boards, gilt title on the upper board (head cover and corners dulled, spine ends and tail cover a little rubbed, small bump on one cut, foxing; missing pl. 11 to 16; with 2 unnumbered pl. of which one dated 1845). Provenance : Sale Capé, bookbinder to the king, in 1868 (old ms. mention) ; Robert de Billy, 1869-1963, ambassador (armorial bookplate) ; Michel Hugon (20th bookplate). A volume gathering several texts from the same series "Domaine de la Couronne", but without the plates, in a red half-calf binding, smooth spine, title and gilt fillets, signed by Capé (head cover and corners dull, brown spots).
