[Engraving]. [Architecture]. MAROT (Jean). Ornaments or placards for the enrichment of rooms, alcoves. Newly invented and engraved by Jean Marot. In Paris, at P., Mariette, [end of XVIIe s.]. Suite of 12 copper-engraved plates, mounted in a small folio collection, early 20th c. taupe half-basin, smooth spine, gilt title throughout (spine rubbed, accident to the edge of the upper board, one corner broken). The volume also contains, by the same Marot: Recueil de diverses pièces modernes d'architecture... A Paris, chez F. L'Anglois dit Chartres, [XVIIe s.]. Incomplete suite including the title numbered 1 and plates 2 to 8, 10 to 12. Some plates have been removed from this volume which still contains 33 other plates, mostly by Marot and showing fireplaces.
