White enamel dial, Roman numerals for the hours, Arabic numerals for the quarter hours, openworked blued steel hands; round movement, the back plate in two parts with the upper part openworked, barrel, reverse pin escapement with alternating pins, steel anchor, equalizer winding, striking on a gong at the back, heavy balance compensated by a beating grill at the front, brass winding weight ; portal stand with two slightly tapering brass columns surmounted by a semi-circle bearing the mechanism, the whole mounted on a black marble base with six turned legs (two missing). Austere and simple model, typical of the first examples of a series of clocks made in the workshops of Hubert Sarton (1748-1828) in Liege.
