The Chayette & Cheval auction house is an expert and pioneer in the sale of art objects related to the Mechanisms of Time. The first sale in this field was organized in 1980 by Master Hervé Chayette.

This specialty includes classic horology, art objects related to related sciences (marine, gnomonics, astrology, magic, etc.), as well as horology books or tools.

Anthony Turner, CNES expert, notably supports the firm in this specialty. Winner of the 2021 Gaïa Prize awarded by the International Museum of La Chaux-de-Fonds, he has been the historical partner of Chayette & Cheval since the early days of Master Hervé Chayette alongside Jean-Claude Sabrier.

The firm organizes between 2 and 4 dedicated auction sales per year. All specialty sales benefit from international visibility, thanks to the online publication of catalogs on targeted websites and through regularly updated and enriched client lists.

Published in 2010 and the result of collaboration between Hervé Chayette, auctioneer, collector, and horology enthusiast; Jean-Claude Sabrier (deceased in 2015), antique dealer and horology expert, consultant for various houses and archives including the Swatch/Breguet group; and Anthony Turner, researcher and expert in Horology and Related Sciences.


It celebrates 30 years of auction sales by the Chayette & Cheval firm in this specialty.

This bilingual (French-English) work presents all the documentation and exceptional watches related to Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747–1823) entrusted to the Chayette & Cheval auction house between 1980 and 2010.
