POST (Pieter Jansz). The works of architecture ordered by Pierre Post architect of Their Highnesses the Princes of Orange. In which one sees the representations of several Edifices considerables in Plans Elevations, with their Descriptions. A Leyde, chez P. Van Der Aa, 1715. 8 parts in one volume in-folio, multiple pagination, pl., later half-basin in the old taste, dis with 7 nerves, garnet marbled title-piece, ornamented caissons (binding very rubbed, head-cap torn off, upper bit split; sporadic moderate russeting and browning; without the portrait). Important work illustrating the works of the Dutch architect P. J. Post (1608-1669) consisting of 76 engraved plates, 53 of which are double plates and three frontispieces. It consists of 8 parts: The house of Prince J. Maurice (6 f. and 6 plates). - La Salle d'Orange (8 p. and 12 plates including the title frontispiece). - The Swanenburg House (10 p. and 8 plates. Plate 4 is short in margin with restored tear). - The House Ryxdorp (7 p. and 5 plates). - Town house of Maastricht (12 p. and 11 plates including the engraved title). - House of the Weight of the city of Gouda (5 p. and 7 plates). - House of Vredenburg (4 p. and 4 plates). - Models of various beautiful fireplaces (8 p. and 23 plates including engraved title. Restored tear in the margin of the last plate). A bound copy with all its margins.
