Restored copy (visible accidents) of the 'male' model of the 'classical anatomy' imagined and manufactured by Louis-Thomas -Jérôme Auzoux (1797-1880). Struck by the shortage of cadavers available for teaching anatomy, Auzoux developed the idea of a dismantlable anatomical model, which dates back to the 17th century, adopting Jean-François Ameline's (1763-1835) idea of making it out of papier-mâché. The name he gave his 'clastique' models comes from the Greek κλαω 'to take apart', and their production lasted for over a century.
